Bill of Materials

A bill of materials (BOM) is a comprehensive inventory of the raw materials, assemblies, subassemblies, parts and components, as well as the quantities of each, needed whether to assemble, store, sell, purchase, move, quote, or manufacture a product.

Microtech Cloud Bill of Materials (BOM) is highly flexible and can be used as:

• Assembly Bill of Materials

• Configurable BOM (CBOM)

• Single-Level BOM

• Multi-Level BOM

• Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM)

• Service BOM

• Sales BOM

• Bill of Quantity (BOQ)

When combined with appropriate financial data, Microtech Cloud Bill of Materials will enable you to produce the true cost of the item.

In using the BOM, understanding “the list of ingredients” it takes to assemble, produce, or purchase the end goods, will assist the operational business activities from supply chain activities such as buying through to stock and inventory management. Having this information will simplify the estimation of parts and components needed to match demand (or forecast demand) and allow the business to respond appropriately.

If used as a configurable BOM, Microtech Cloud Bill of Materials is a method of developing a BOM for complex items and those that need to make particular information about involved costs for every component and cost information of the various stages of sub-assembly. This can difficult.

Using the BOM the information can be obtained and processed throughout Microtech Cloud as needed, and as your application demands.
